About Me
The Danish soprano Sofie Lund (b. 1993) studied at the Royal College of Music on the Artist Diploma in Opera programme, with professor Rosa Mannion.
In 2022 Sofie participated in the well renewed festival Verbier Festival where she was a part of the Atelier Lyric programme. Sofie received the Prix Thierry Mermod for her work and performance of the role Gretel in Humperdincks Hansel und Gretel
Sofie made her debut in 2021 at Den Ny Opera, Esbjerg performing the role of Nanetta in Falstaff.
Since then, Sofie has sung roles such as Angina, (Manualen) the Royal Danish Opera, Euridice, Royal Danish Opera, Waldvogel, Den Ny Opera, Pamina, Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, Maschenka (Der Goldene Brunnen) Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern etc.
Since September 2023 Sofie has been a member of the ensemble at Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Sofie has performed as a soloist in Händel’s Messiah, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Mendelsohn’s Ein Sommernacht’s Traum with smaller ensembles and orchestra’s such at Aarhus Symfoniorkester.
Sofie will this summer be the recipient of Copenhagen Opera festival’s talent prize 2024.
Sofie has worked with some prominent coaches, singers from all over the world including Thomas Hampson, Angela Gheorghiu, Anne Sofie von Otter, Barbara Frittoli among others.
She has worked on stage with directors, Kasper Holten, Jetske Mintjsen, Sascha Milavic, Hendrik Müller and conductors, Stanislav Kochanovsky, Michael Schønwandt, Lars Ulrich Mortesen, Robert Houssart, Daniele Squeo among others.
